Virtual Number Guide

This guide explains how ErgVoxi virtual numbers work, how to set up call forwarding from your existing business number, and what to expect during your trial and on paid plans.

1. Understanding ErgVoxi Virtual Numbers

When you sign up with ErgVoxi, your account is assigned a dedicated virtual number. This number is what your AI voice agent uses to receive incoming calls. Calls made to this virtual number are answered automatically by your AI agent, which can handle conversations, bookings, and queries on your behalf.

The virtual number is separate from your existing business number and is managed entirely within your ErgVoxi account.

2. Using Your Existing Business Number

Most businesses prefer customers to keep calling their existing, published business number rather than remembering a new one. To make this possible, we recommend setting up call forwarding from your existing business number to your ErgVoxi virtual number.

Once call forwarding is enabled, calls to your regular business number are automatically routed to your ErgVoxi virtual number, where your AI voice agent answers them — so your customers can keep dialing the number they already know.

3. Setting Up Call Forwarding

Call forwarding setup depends on your mobile operator. Below are instructions for the most common operators in India. In all examples, replace the example virtual number with your own ErgVoxi virtual number, always dialed with the +91 country code (not a leading 0).

Example ErgVoxi virtual number used below: +91 11401 23456 (replace with your own).

Airtel

Airtel supports the standard GSM “Call Forwarding on No Answer” code, which lets you set a ring delay (in multiples of 5 seconds) before the call is forwarded. To forward after 10 seconds of ringing to the example virtual number above, dial:

**61*+91 11401 23456*10#

To switch it off again, dial:

##61#

You can also manage call forwarding using the MyAirtel app. For the latest steps, refer to Airtel’s official support page.

Jio

On Jio, “Call Forwarding on No Answer” is activated with a dedicated code rather than a configurable delay. To forward unanswered calls to the example virtual number above, dial:

*403*+91 11401 23456#

To switch it off again, dial:

*404#

Jio’s network does not expose a configurable ring-delay for this code. You can also manage call forwarding using the MyJio app. For the latest steps, refer to Jio’s official support page.

USSD codes can occasionally change or vary by circle/plan. If a code above doesn’t work for you, contact your operator’s customer support and ask them to enable “Call Forwarding on No Answer” (sometimes called “Call Divert”) to your assigned ErgVoxi virtual number. 4. Virtual Numbers During Your Free Trial

During your free trial, a virtual number is temporarily allocated to your account so you can test the AI voice agent end-to-end. This number is drawn from a shared pool of available numbers.

When your trial ends, the virtual number may be reassigned to another account if you do not continue on to a paid plan. We recommend not publishing your trial virtual number anywhere permanent.

5. Virtual Numbers on Paid Plans

On paid plans, your virtual number is retained for your account for as long as your subscription remains active and in good standing, subject to our service terms and number availability from our telecom providers.

If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your virtual number may be released and reassigned.

6. Virtual Number Charges

Each virtual number assigned to your account is charged at ₹200 per month. This amount is automatically deducted from your available credit balance.

Please ensure your credit balance remains sufficient to avoid interruption to your virtual number service.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my call forwarding stops working?

Check with your mobile operator that call forwarding is still active — it can sometimes be disabled by operator-side network changes, SIM replacement, or plan changes. Re-enable it using the same steps as your initial setup.

Can I choose or keep a specific virtual number?

Virtual number availability depends on current stock from our telecom providers. If you’d like to discuss number availability, please contact our support team at support@ergvoxi.com.

What happens if I run out of credit balance?

If your credit balance is insufficient to cover the monthly virtual number charge, your virtual number service may be paused until your balance is topped up. Top up your credits from your account dashboard to resume service.
